Correcting Dog Behavior

Excessive Digging - Learn how to Better Manage your Dog's Digging Habit

Sometimes our four-legged friends exhibit dog behavioral problems. Maybe its a fear of something that causes your dog to behave poorly at certain times. Maybe its separation anxiety that causes your dog to be destructive every time you leave. Maybe your dog suffers from chronic pain that causes unacceptable behavior. Whatever the cause of your dog’s indiscretions, professional dog trainer, Jenn Merritt, CPDT, can help you in creating a plan for correcting dog behavior problems in your own home.

Jenn has worked with adult dog behavioral problems and puppy behavior training for more than a decade. She combines Tellington TTouch methods with the principles of reward-based training to help you address various behavioral problems in your pet. Private sessions are in your home, by appointment, and provide the best setting for one on one attention with your dog.

All private training and behavior modification emphasizes the reduction of stress and arousal to create an environment in which the dog can more easily learn new or more appropriate behaviors.

If you are dealing with a specific dog behavioral problem, please feel free to email us or call us with details of what you are experiencing. If possible, we request that you video tape your dog so that the problem can be reviewed during your first session. First sessions sometimes take a bit longer, so that a true understanding of the dog and its environment can be assessed. Depending on your dog’s issues, private training sessions can last a few weeks or a few months.
